Time Adjustments

During a live show, things rarely go exactly as planned. StageTick gives the operator powerful tools to adjust timers on the fly — add time, subtract time, jump to a specific point, or reset entirely.

The numpad

The numpad is the primary tool for time adjustments in the operator view. It appears when you select a timer and provides five distinct adjustment modes.

Adjustment modes

The numpad operates in one of five modes. Select a mode, then enter a value and apply it.

SET TO

Sets the timer's total duration to the entered value and resets the elapsed time to zero. This essentially redefines how long the timer should be. Enter a time (e.g., 5:00) and the timer restarts with that new duration.

← JUMP

Moves the timer backward by the entered amount. If the timer is at 3:20 and you jump back 30 seconds, it moves to 2:50. This effectively gives the speaker more remaining time.

JUMP →

Moves the timer forward by the entered amount. If the timer is at 3:20 and you jump forward 30 seconds, it moves to 3:50. This effectively takes time away from the speaker.

− SUBTRACT

Reduces the timer's total duration by the entered amount. The elapsed time stays the same, but the remaining time decreases. This makes the segment shorter overall.

+ ADD

Increases the timer's total duration by the entered amount. The elapsed time stays the same, but more remaining time is added. This extends the segment — for example, when a Q&A session runs long and you want to give the speaker 5 extra minutes.

Tip: The most commonly used modes are + ADD (to give more time) and − SUBTRACT (to shorten a segment). ← JUMP and JUMP → move the playhead without changing the total duration.

Seeking to a specific time

To jump to an exact point in a timer:

  1. Select the SET TO mode on the numpad.
  2. Enter the desired duration using the numpad keys (e.g., type 5 0 0 for 5:00).
  3. Press Enter or click Apply to set the new duration.

The timer's duration is set to the entered value and its elapsed time resets to zero. This works whether the timer is running or paused.

Resetting a timer

To reset a timer back to the beginning:

  • Click the Reset button on the timer card in the operator view.
  • The timer's elapsed time returns to zero and the timer is paused.
  • The total duration and all settings are preserved.
Note: All adjustments are synchronized in real time. When the operator changes a timer, every connected device sees the update instantly.
